Great watch. I once saw a dress Princeton with a Jowissa movement but otherwise no information.

Get some polywatch on the crystal as I imagine it is acrylic, it will come up lovely and show off the dial.

It looked like there may be some crazing- if so, it’s a standard GS diver-tite, any watchmaker can service that watch and replace that crystal- and that dial will seriously pop under new acrylic

Been a member here for a while and have started commenting more on threads but this is my first thread.

I received this watch from my father-in-law after he found out I was into old watches. He couldn't really provide me with any info on it and I can't seem to find much online other than people selling a similar looking one or others posting looking for info like this one: https://www.reddit.com/r/Watches/comments/e0pqgc/identify_found_this_princeton_watch_while_going/

I doubt its worth anything but it would be nice to know some things about it. Also, I don't get why the numbers on the bezel seem to be going in reverse. Any info would be appreciated. Thanks!

Cool aviator, you look like George Micheal. Are you related?
I dont know who that is so I am guessing no!
Nice watch but you don’t know who George Michael is?!

Did you get it Last Christmas By any chance ?

It does have crazing. I just haven't been able to find a watchmaker her local in the Lehigh Valley.

No I received this watch, a Benrus tank style manually winding dress watch, a vulcain and a Longines pocket watch years ago from my father-in-law. Maybe around 2018 or so. Why do you ask?

surely if OP resembles The George, it’s a more familial - perhaps father figure - sort of relationship?

I love that this thread was able to both add real useful knowledge and also provide a good laugh this morning. Nice watch, OP!

Great looking watch you have there. I will encourage you to post threads about your other watches as well, especially that Longines pocket watch.

Doesn't fathering require a man and a woman?

(A reflection on George Michael, no offense to the OP intended)

Used to spend a good bit of time there. Slatington, Lehighton, Allentown, used to have some family there. Now they are scattered around the country.

I don't know anyone in Lehigh, but if you get to the Main Line every now and then, I can recommend Whittle Watches in Wayne. Does good work but you need patience....

It's crazy how after you learn more about a watch you instantly like it more. Before I knew anything I found this watch really unattractive with the green markers and hands but now I cant take it off. Wearing it to work for the 2nd day in a row. Its actually keeping really great time too. That is one of the things I love about mechanics watches. Hasn't been used in 50-60 years. Pick up it and BAM the thing starts ticking and working right away. The only thing I have noticed is that the bezel is REALLY difficult to move.

They’ll run, and if you only plan to wear it occasionally, then it may make it for a few more decades before it quits. But remember, it’s running in 50 year old oils that have dried up and turned too goo, so it’s probably hard contact with every revolution.
I was never a diver watch fan, always thought they were clunky. Then I got one…then two…then twenty….it’s like chips, can’t have just one.
And it is hard to compete with this style of skin diver. New divers, and even homages of ones like this, tend to be larger and thicker. They don’t wear as slim to the wrist- which is part of the joy of these.
