Really wanted to start a separate topic on NASA astronauts & manned spaceflight personnel wearing Zodiac wrist watches as I believe the subject didn't really fit in my spacefarer's dress watches topic

Trying to do this in a chronological way, let's start with the NASA flight surgeons as I'm writing a short article on the NASA Doctors who were assigned to the manned spaceflight program (Dr William Douglas, Dr Howard Minners, Dr William Carpentier to name a few).
US Air Force LtColonel Dr William K. Douglas (1922-1998) has been mentioned in other topics (e.g. Bulova), was the first NASA flight surgeon assigned to the Project Mercury space program during which photos show him wearing a Zodiac Seawolf automatic wrist watch. Interestingly, Dr Douglas not only became the personnel physician of the astronauts, who nicknamed him the "8th astronaut" but after leaving the USAF & NASA was instrumental in establishing the Mercury Seven Foundation. In October 1998, Dr Douglas was present during the Space Shuttle "Discovery" STS-95 launch seeing his old friend John Glenn fly in space again !

In April 1966, NASA presented astronaut group 5 nicknamed by John Young "The Original Nineteen", among whom US Air Force test pilot Fred W. Haise, ARPS class 64A, the best scoring candidate of the whole group. In this official NASA portrait we see Fred Haise wearing a Zodiac Aerospace GMT pilot watch.

In december 1969, the Apollo 13 "Moonwalkers" James A. Lovell Jr. and Fred Wallace Haise were training during a geology field trip at the Kapoho volcanic region, Hawaii training site. In fact, Kilauea was an active volcano which had erupted seven months earlier!
Simulated lunar EVA gave the astronauts hands-on experience using the Apollo Lunar Hand Tools (ALHT), scoops & rakes, during long traverse walks wearing a Hasselblad camera and often a PLSS mockup backpack.
Here James Lovell was wearing his personal Zodiac Seawolf automatic wrist watch.

Preliminary remark: with al the ongoing AI, modifying & creating all kinds of images, I started to add the official NASA photograph numbers with all of my topics & replies!

1969, James Lovell's personal wrist watch
Lately lots of remarks on "social media" about the wrist watch worn by NASA astronaut James Lovell in 1969 photographs. So let's try to be 100% clear.
In this July 1969 NASA photo (S69-39601) we see CapCom Charles Duke and astronaut James Lovell, who was wearing his personal Zodiac Seawolf automatic wrist watch.
Between November 1969 & April 1970, there're at least half-a-dozen photos showing James Lovell often wore the Zodiac Seawolf automatic in that period. Hence two examples.
The July 20, 1969 Apollo 11 moment of touch-down and the April 11, 1970 Apollo 13 pre-launch breakfast (NASA photo 70H-494 also 108-KSC-7OP-167) !
In both photographs we can clearly distinguish the Zodiac Seawolf automatic:
the triangular 12, 3, 6 & 9 hour markers dial & bracelet (A11 photo), and the very specific bracelet, even the Zodiac logo on the clasp (A13 photo)

The great forgotten. I still remember that striking collection from the early 21st century.

Thanks Phill.

Thanks!

I will view the Sea Wolf here in a new light.
