Watched this last night, pretty cool movie. Highly recommending to watch, a lot of cool facts.
Mission control : The Unsung heroes of Apollo.
Of course you have to wear your Speedy while you are watching it.

@mr_yossarian great recommendation. The series is probably some of the best stuff out there to watch. The Apollo capsule, Lunar Module, and the Rover episodes are exceptionally well done and fantastic. I could watch them over and over.

Absolutely. The usual thinking starts when the Saturn 5 lifts off, but the way to get there was insane and started with way more problems than solutions. Engineering and! erecting 3000 tons weight, having thousands of parts that need to function the same second to do so is absolutely impressiv.

I'm starting to think lack of computers is why they could accomplish as much as they did.

Watched 'Last man on the moon' and 'Mission control' over the weekend...and WOW...so so SOOOO good / informative / eye-opening...insane what they accomplished then and what was around to accomplish it.

'Error Code 1012' ... ::facepalm2:: ... almost running outta fuel ... they sure did a helluva job.

The Gemini Program ... stumbling around like lost farts in the perfume factory :)

Thanks so much for the recommendations.

Any more sources of info regarding these programs most definitely welcome.

PS: a pity there are no tributes to Apollo 1 ... this tragedy most certainly ensured the successes that followed...

Man on a Mission = the story of Richard Garriott, son of NASA astronaut Owen Garriott (Skylab and STS-9)
Richard sold almost all his assets in order to fly to the ISS on Soyuz TMA-13 in October 2008... wearing the SEIKO springdrive "spacewalk" watch
