Hello, Up for sale today is a pretty unique piece - a 1970s Zodiac Aerospace Jet. For those interested, Zodiac launched this line of 24 hour watches in 1962 as the Zodiac Hermetic. Over the years, the named changed to the Jet Aeronaut and finally to the Jet Aerospace. This was Zodiac's only 24 hour watch, and expectedly, the dial is the star here - deep black combined with red markers for the odd hours and Arabic numerals for the even hours. The lume has turned a pleasant shade of yellow, and is fully present on the hands and on the hour markers. This watch also possesses a snap caseback which features an unusual water-resistant system that was similar to the one found in the Zodiac Sea-Wolf. This feature explains the name "Hermetic" as well as the fish engraved on the caseback. Some notes from my ownership: - If you've never owned a 24 hour watch before, it's definitely an interesting complication - one that I really enjoy. - For a watch that is clearly not large, it packs a punch in terms of presence. I've had a few folks compliment the unique design. - I've loved owning this piece and have thought hard before putting this one up for sale. A couple incomings this month have forced my hand, and I would like to find it a good home.
