I've owned it for about 5 years, and think it was probably a fleabay special... Dial is nice enough, a few tiny oxidation spots and two tiny scratches near the top and left side of the star when viewed under 3x loupe. Looks fine with naked eye. Case has been overpolished and contours are dulled between case sides and bezel. You can see how poorly it was polished in the first two pics.. Looks like a very angry person attempted to open the case back, not realizing a special technique/tool is required. Which I don't have. So sorry, but no movement pics. Stem needs to be shortened a bit and feels slightly loose. Crystal also loose but held in by the bezel in this model, so no need to worry about it falling out.. Crown is 5.0mm and I don't know if it's original. I've worn this baby a few times and recall it keeping decent time. Date snaps smartly into place at 12:00. It's been on my desk for a few hours this afternoon and ticking away without a hitch. But it will certainly need a movement service. $ 73 takes it. I'll ship it USPS priority to anywhere in the continental U.S.
Interest in this one (let us be kind) has not exactly been enthusiastic... So: unreasonable offers now considered! examples: 1. a nice red wine or 2. bottle of single malt or 3. donation to Alpha's beagle rescue fund or 4. hands/crown for my Favre Leuba Deep Blue (first gen) project. or 5. whatever...
Aston I'll have you know! Really. The shame of it. Looking forward to the exciting new addition to the collection!
OMG I am so embarrassed.... as I consider myself a car guy and did not look carefully at the grill! And yes, you will most certainly be the talk of the town with this one on your wrist...
Forgiven. The designer William Towns was heavily influenced by the Mustang in this design. DBS which morphed into my AMV8 (one of the last ones made before the company went bust in October 1974). The Zenith which I think is period-correct for the car, will be on my wife's wrist when a visit to Goodwood Revival is in order...
Probably the cheapest watch ever sold here but nicer than most of the ugly ducklings. Compliments to the buyer.
