    Hi

I have been looking at Zeniths for too long now. Time to hunt one down, but really not great on all the movements and seems Zenith has not been as keen on model numbers either?? We are talking vintage now and noy new.

I have found a few 37-38mm jumbo versions of dress watches that I really love the look of, but not sure they actually have model numbers. Do they? Any input on what I should look for it I want a jumbo Zenith dresser?

Where caliber has been mentioned I tend to se the 126 poppig up. Is that a qualitative movement? Any specific movement I should look for when it comes to Zenith dress watches? Something I should avoid?

    Cheers!

Any Zenith is good! Are looking for manual or automatic? I don’t know that you can classify any of their movements as basic. The 126 series was one of the most produced calibers so it really depends what you’re looking for. 40T is a great cal along with the 133.8. Keep researching and ask questions here. There’s a lot of people here who have great knowledge of the brand. BTW I have several Zenith watches. I think it’s one of the best out there and still affordable

You should be on the lookout for a deluxe 37mm Captain chronometre with Calibre 71 — preferably rose gold, but yellow also works. Or a 37mm Calibre 135 with coffin markers, in steel (or gold, but I don't have one yet :(). Just one man's opinion.

Ohh... yes... the last pic... wow. Think maybe I "need" one So assume that is the 37mm cal 135 with coffin markers? So it basically does not have any more model ref than that?

Yes... seen it. Very cool actually but looking for more of a classic dress watch I think. But one can always have one more I guess ;-)

40T. 60s. Not jumbo but one of the must haves for a Zenith collection. IMO if you only want one, find a 135 but they’re not readily available like the others and are priced accordingly

Looked a bit on the 135 now, but as you say they are NOT cheap :) They seem to be the ones I like the most though so will continue to keep an eye out. Comforting to hear though that most other Zenit calibres are of high quality too. Think I will need to keep an open mind when it comes to the movement.

IMO a great first buy is the Captain. Chronometer or not. Even if not marked as such, the movements are still Chronometer grade

Actually I can do both automatic and manual. I like both in different ways. I think what I get stuck on are the 35-38mm models with a preference for 37-38 simply because of presence and that the dial gets a bit more "air" if you know what I mean. But can definitely do 35mm as well as my wrists are very narrow. The only real benefit with lady like wrists :)

Will keep reading up on movements. Unique movements are cool, but can often also get you in to trouble when trying to source parts :-(

The below ones are just amazing and seem to all have cal 126. "Stole" pics of internet so hopefully no one will object to that.

I’ve got this oversized Zentih, not a stunner, some damage on the dial and replaced crown, nevertheless one of my favorite watches. Love the bigger size and dauphins hands!

Get your point. A beauty even though it is not mint. Love the dauphin hands as well.

I will keep my eyes open and drop in questions when I find something I like. Let's see what you then say about what the watches :)

    Hi

Stumbled across these two on an auction site. Veeeery limited or no info on them. Any thoughts? Unfortunately they are both stated to be 34mm which is a bit small.
