Zenith Captain, automatic, recently serviced. Caliber 71

Stainless steel case has service scratches but sharp edges and no visible evidence of polishing. Measured 36.2mm

Not much to say. Everything looks nice and correct. The only negative is the slight burn on the dial at about 10:25 on the dial, which would have come from the hands not moving from that position for years. (The service receipt says "Longines." For some reason the watchmaker wrote the wrong watch, although he did in fact service this Zenith.)

$925 usd including shipping to N. America. Elsewhere to be discussed.

That's a beauty. The kind of watch that makes me sigh longingly when I look at it. And that movement... GLWS... If this is still here (not likely, I think) when the tax return comes in, I might have some explaining to do to the wife.

I think it's worth pointing out that although the regulator may appear to be adjusted far away from center in the photos (a common red flag buyers look for), that's not the case. The regulator has two "pointers", and although we can't see them together well in a single photo, they do seem to be aligned fairly symmetrically between + and -. Maybe this is obvious to everyone here, but it was new to me.

Just came across your post. This is actually an interesting piece. As you can see, the movement is signed twice, ADJ 2 pos, 17 not 20 jewels and stamped CXC. Normally this would be marked Zenith, 20 jewels, Swiss Made with serial number and Cal.

CXC is the import mark for Concord Watch Co who were watch importers at the time and located in New York. I have seen several examples of this. All of them came out of South America. I can only assume that the 17 jewels was for import tax purposes. Zenith has no record of these watches but they are totally legit.

Sold on Chrono24, $875 shipped to Hong Kong.

I feel like I gave this away, especially as I paid half this amount to have it serviced. Gone now to a happy home.
