    Hi Everyone,
I wonder if I could have your eyes to help me review this A385. I'm more familiar with UG, and not so expert with Zenith. Does this look good, any issues? The asking price is $8800 usd which I assume is on the high side. What do you think would be fair pricing?
    any help appreciated.

Looks good to me. Case is decent.

Crown is service, but that is common enough to have been replaced.

Bracelet with end links is a bonus, the links are very tough to come by.

Dial is nice and attractive. The tan colour is in my experience uncommon. Most of the A385 seem to have a greeny grey fume dial.

Nice watch. One similar (head only I believe) sold on the bay for about 5500 not too long ago.

Those photos look very Shuck the Oyster style. If I am right, you can negotiate the price ;)

Bracelet, case condition, and amazing dial are the best. Only the crown is an issue (really small). I like it a lot.

Price? Less posible. I believe 8.800 is too much (when you can find a G381 for almost the same).

That watch looks beautiful. IMHO there should be a headroom of about 10 % in the price, as the seller is a professional dealer.
    Best Luck

because it is a profesional seller, you could no get a great discount over asking price ... that dial is really amazing ... 8000 usd can be a price if the piece is very special to you ... if you feel it is another A385, 8000 usd will be too much (but this is only my opinion!)

...imho is a lovely lovely example. dial is perfect and case looks in amazing conditions.
it's not easy to find untouched cases, i think that if you're looking for a good example you don't have to be scared to pay a little plus.
If I am right, price is now 7900€, you could try to offer 7000€ and see if this works.

Chuck is not really the type of with whom you discount too much on prices. On overhaul on an el primero 3019phf is itself worth 1000-1500$. A guy I know who was into vintage heuers, tried to negotiate the price below its market price with Chuck on chrono24, it didn't go too much well. Everything Zenith has risen in value since the last decade, and what was affordable 5 or 10 years ago is perhaps not affordable anymore. Shuck offers a warranty on what he sells that has to be taken in consideration , this means that the watch was overhauled and was well cared. And remember when something is in pristine condition and therefore rare, never expect it to be on the cheap side.

Shuck has had a handful of fantastic A385 and A386 over the past year and this one is my favorite. Beautiful piece!

Who's $1000-$1500? My guys (US) did one of mine for $700, which I still thought was a little high but they do great work.

How many years ago did you have the watch overhauled? 5 years ago I had one overhauled for 530€, now I had an Espada with the full calendar and the moonphase overhauled for 1030€ (because 3019phf movements parts are very rare), so yes prices evolve. I had a quotation from Zenith which asked me 2000€ for a full overhaul.
