Looking for some input on a few interesting watches I found that could be my first vintage. Sorry some of it is in Swedish, but hope you can help. I believe the seller of the first two is good, but the last one I don'know anything about.

1961 Seamaster. Cal 285 ref number 18978897. Case ref 14390-61-SC. Runns well. It has a linen dial!! Champagne coloured. Is this a good thing? Is linen rare? Is it sensitive in any way? Does it look good?!?!? I can't make my mind up on that one. :)

1962 Seamaster. Cal 286 ref # 19532871. Case ref # 135.003-62-SC. Runns well. Also this one with a linen dial... silver coloured. Which caliber is to prefer; 285 or 286???

Link in English. Beautiful this one... not at all sure if it is original though. Have asked for more info but not received. Any comments with the info available? This one is automatic! Is that to be preferred over the non-automatics??

    Any input would be great!

In this case, you really do get what you pay for. The third watch is a overpolished redial. The other two are nice originals, but carry much higher pricetags.

Not sure if either is worth the $800 to $900 price being asked, though.

Why is there no movement shot of the Seamaster 30? They have a shot of the inside of the case back.

Yea... third one does not feel right even though it is beautiful.

The others are nice. I felt the price was rather ok, but maybe that is not the case then :) Where would you like to have them in price?

I have asked for a movement shot as well.

Is the back of the case on the 30 from 1962 really worn or do they look like that? Polished?

What about the movements then... 285/286 or any of the automatics?

Is a linen dial a good choice in terms of looks and in terms of being rare??

Not worn. These watches had both raised and incused Hippocampus medallions on different cases.

All good movements. The 285/286 are derivatives of the cal. 30, various incarnations of which were made from 1939 to 1964. These were among the movements that made Omega famous.

Not rare, but quite unusual looking. Popular in the 1960's, which is when both of these watches were made.

    Hope this helps,

Thanks. It does for sure. I am on a steap learning curve.

Would I be better off looking for an automatic?

Depends what you want in a vintage watch.

Omega automatics and manual winds are both very nice.
