I attended this little get together in my town where watch collectors meet. This guy told me my 2264 was more like a timex then a Omega because it's an old model and his brand new seamaster is more respected.

Like others have said, find a new group, or just don’t pay that idiot any mind. I have both the 2254 and the latest SMPc. My 54 gets more wrist time. The 2264 is a fantastic watch, and it’s value is going up.

 

No decent person should say what this guy said about his watch being "more respected" even if you HAD been wearing an actual Timex.

 

This exactly. It’s the snobbish mentality of a very few people that make all of us look bad. I don’t care if someone is wearing an Orient Bambino. I’ll compliment them on it. I’ve had more than a few Omegas that have had quality control issues. People need to get off their high horse.
