Hi folks, hope you're all fine

I have an opportunity to buy this speedy. it's a 145.022. it was first sold in 1976 according to papers. I'm curious about what you think. The 'arrow" hand seems that it have been replaced.

There are two different watches there. The one in the first pic has a DON bezel and lume filled sweep second hand and the other two pics the bezel is a dot next to ninety and different non lume filled sweep hand.

I had noticed that the hand was not looking the same on the different pics but i couldn't find why. I had not seen that the bezel was different. I'm wainting for some explanation.

Compare the Tachymetre (the tilda on E) and the position of the dot on 90 and you will see.

Yes I so the accent ont the E. Actually we seem not to have understood each other. He has two watches for sale. Here's what he tells me :
Omega Speedmaster 145.022 year 76 movement Manual Cal 861 (Speedy Pro ) watch only
Omega Speedmaster 145.22.69 cal 861. with band leather.

    coherent with the pics?

So to sum up, only the one on th first picture is not sold. the case number is 145022 69 ST and I'm waiting for the movement number. Does the Bezel dial and hands are coherent? It's supposed to be from 1968 right?
    Movement begins with 32... shouldn't a 1968 speedy mvt begin with 28?

The first one looks like a '69, with DoN.

I'd expect the serial to be 29xxxxxx or perhaps low 30xxxxxx.

More desireable than the '76. Chrono hand looks new but it's not a deal breaker.

At the right price it could be a buy. It's hard to tell condition though. At first glance, it look average but closer inspection might reveal that the dial has a nice patina....

Thanks a lot for sharing your opinion. The case 145.022 was changedin 1970 to 145.0022 right? So the case is ok. The hand doesn't bother mes too much as I can "age" it or find another one.
The condition of the movement is decent i would say. Some spots on some parts. I can rather esaily polish them.
You're being ironic about the patina? Or a nice surprise? What would be your maximum price?
the one thing that bothers me more is the SN

I would make sure you trust this seller. I have seen several of these come up in ads recently that look like they are part of a scam. I inquired about one and was sent pictures of two different watches. I asked why and they came back with its just camera angles, when it was clearly not.

Where have you got ref 145.0022 from? If this is stamped inside the caseback its a modern replacement.

    It should be 145.022 - 69.

    Have you got more pics?

sorry I meant 145.022 69 ST (typing mistake). As for the movement a friend who knows well speedies tell me that these cases where used until 1973 as Omega had some left. and that a 33XXXX movement is not impossible. I don't want to convince myself that it's not a scam. My concerne is not receiving what I see but not receiving antyhting at all. DOn't you find the 69 weird?

Nah, many of the dates look like this. I think the suppliers pre-stamped the 145.022 (along with the rest of the caseback) and then either they or Omega stamped the year code once it was ready to be put on a finished watch.

Hm. Crown on #2 looks to be a modern service replacement. Haven't been following this that closely to be honest. In your post which is the one sold as the 145.022-69, and which is the '70s model?

the very first pic is the 145.022 st69, both 2nd and 3rd are the 70s'. the latest i posted are supposed to be the 145.022 st69? SO it looks like a replacement crown on the 70s' but not on the ST69.

Hmm. Wide-logo crown may be original to a '70s Speedmaster. Maybe.
I personally don't care for the -69 with the replacement chrono needle but it could be a good purchase if you can source a nicely aged part.

For the '70s watch, get a serial no / movement photo and check against http://speedmaster101.com/145-022-71-74-76-78/

    Good luck :)
