Chitty Chitty Bang Bang has long been a family favourite film at Christmas...

Written by Ian Fleming, so you can even use this as an excuse to buy a Bond watch 👍

Probably not that well known outside of the UK, but I always try and make a point of watching the carol service from King’s College, Cambridge.

I don’t really feel festive until I’ve heard a bit of John Rutter, on Christmas Eve.

Hard to believe no one has mentioned the best one of all: Merry Christmas Mr. Bean. Available on DVD and youtube.

Adding a new one to the roster, Fatman with Mel Gibson. I loved it.

This one is mandatory viewing across Denmark on New Years eve 😀
In Norway they show it on Christmas Eve. When I spent my first Christmas in Norway, my father in law kept repeating the lines from the show.I had never heard of it. He was a bit shocked and could not wait for it to come on. I didn't think it was that good to be honest.

Another true classic :
The First of the Few (1942)
Thanks Phil, you've sorted my Christmas. This one, the one 2 posts above and one on the first page. Hold on with the Christmas movies and wait for the New Years day movies thread like a good chap 👍.

Preferred the 1938 version of "A Christmas Carol" with Reginald Owen as Ebenezer and Gene Lockhart as Bob Cratchit.
Morecambe and Wise Christmas was always good for a laugh.

Good shout. Plus there is also a lost episode coming out 7:45pm Xmas day this year - like the good old days :0)
.....

A lost episode of Morecambe and Wise is due to air on Christmas Day after being discovered in an attic by Eric Morecambe’s son. Dating from October 1970, the 45-minute show was the comedy duo’s first for BBC One after they moved from BBC Two.

We used to do this movie every year.

But for me it’s Love Actually and Die Hard.

Shakin’Stevens on the sound systems and Good Life Xmas Special 1977 to kick off festivities. A fun cast who got on well - Paul Eddington always gives a comedy master class (well they all do).
Have a good one everyone,
As an aside I know Felicity Kendal likes her watches - it looks like she wore a good size / nice watch for the Good Life. I wonder what brand it was?
