Hey guys, Just wondering what your is your first vintage piece, and is it still in your collection? Mine is a Seamaster with crosshair dial calibre 552, really can't seem to let this one go as my collection grows. Tell me whats yours!
I still have my first one 46 years later... .... my parents gave it to me for my 10th birthday ! I found it in a box, in a drawer about 3 years ago... '67 Caravelle HW: I guess that makes me 'vintage', too!
My grandfather's rose gold Bulova from the 40's - handed to me by my grandmother almost 20 years ago. Shown here with the matching lady's version: Similar thread from a while back: https://omegaforums.net/threads/do-you-still-own-your-first-vintage-watch.17669/#post-190811
The first vintage I ever bought, however, was last October; this 1954 ref 2782-9 bumper cal. 354: I have yet to sell any of my vintage watches, and there's been a few since the Connie!
Vostok Commander I bought in a surplus store in the 80s, I think. First vintage Omega was a 2627 Caliber 353. I don't have either of these any more. Tom
1905 Longines, Grandad Olaf bought it in Winnipeg Manitoba while in visiting that big city. still keeps good time!
A ROXY automatic from the early 60s, gold plated and with a metal stretch wristband. I got it from my dad when I was 16ish and wore it for a few years until the already heavily worn watch its case got a leak from rust / sweat and I couldn't wear it anymore. Stupid me, I lost it over the years, not much commercial value, but a nice looking watch and after all from my dad...
this was my first one - a record chrono with landeron 248 movement - at the moment I bought it I didn't knew a thing about vintage watches. And the more I learn, the more I become aware I still don't know a thing....
Vacheron 37mm, actually not exactly the first i bot as the first was a lady watch for my wife, pictures attached
Bought from our good friend @Alpha a few years ago and still enjoy wearing it around the house a few nights a week.
