Hi.
My first post here.

I'm considering this:

https://www.chrono24.co.uk/omega/el...-with-tritium-dial-ref-198030--id19810053.htm

There are another couple available, but this one looks good, as does seller, etc.

I'd like to know your collective thoughts on whether I should go for it. I'm happy to spend a bit more on a decent one.
Also, your views on servicing and reliability would be appreciated. I know about 'Paul', but not much more.

Ultimately I'd like to own and regularly wear one of these. Happy for it to lose/gain a minute every couple of days.

I currently own a gorgeous big square Geneve- my fave out of my handful of watches.
thanks
Rob

p.s. how loud is the hum? is it like having a mosquito around? 😀

The serif font is classic vintage, wondering if the red trapezium border around omega symbol came unique with Omega quartzs

Regardless of the watch - those f300s aren't my forte - I'd strongly recommend to avoid the seller of the first one. The guy's been banned from this forum multiple times for his behavior and there are plenty of horror stories of the way Maximilian/Vintage Portfolio treats his customers.

Better to know first, thank you.

I’m not an expert on f300s but if I were to add one to a collection I’d spend more and go for a Constellation rather than a Geneve.

Thanks for all the replies- seriously quick responses!

Hope you don't mind posting links rather than saving loads of pics from the web and reposting. Will do all that if it's a widespread preference. Posting links allows you guys to adjudicate the whole offering, I guess, which really helps me.

Thanks for the warning regarding one particular seller- amazing that he has one reputation here, and a different set of feedback online.

Re. the guitar, it was the prettiest, least personal pic I could quickly grab. Yes, it's a 72 RI Tele with P90s. Stunning looker, but woolly sound, so it's gone to a grunge-merchant with a penchant for orange...

Links once more below to the other contenders. They're both private sellers, so I'm a bit hesitant. Never bought from Chrono24 before.
Thanks again- advice appreciated

For later researches pictures are better because they don't tend to disappear 😉

Links might be alraedy dead ends in some weeks

Why? They are pretty much identical and all are chronometer rated. The sub brands have no meaning really within the f300 family, its just branding. Ok there are a couple of specialist Seamaster models with higher depth ratings but in the main they are much of a muchness.

Just the Connie sub-brand has a little more kudos I guess, but I take your point.

I only hear mine if I hold it close to my ear when wearing it...that said, if I set it on the nightstand, I can hear it across the room! The wood acts as an amplifier.
