People are going to want pics not links. A few things give me pause. To begin with this “unpolished example” looks like it was polished yesterday and it has some amazing perfectly matched lume. It’s either the best preserved lume I’ve seen in ages or it’s been redone

Components all look original but echo probable relume as above and you're almost blinded by shine from the polish on these lugs...

Thank you very much for your estimations, next time I will post the pictures as well.

As far as polishing and lume are concerned, I have the same fears. The seller claims the watch is untouched and Lume would match perfectly under UV. But he can't send any pictures because he is on vacation. Who could not be convinced? ;-)

I would feel better if the seller was honest. The fact that they’re standing by the “unpolished” and “original lume” make it a hard pass for me. What else are they lying about?

Even that would not be a good proof, that it's not relumed.

As a side topic: how to recognize that lume is original on a watch? It's clear that it depends from model to model and how is it done. But are there any hard criterias that always count? For me as a non-expert, this is very difficult to classify.

Not an expert on the topic, but it comes down to colour, texture, application, and reaction to light/UV. Often high-res macro photos are needed to be certain.
Different models age in differnt ways. Some turn green, some yellow, some are know to have blobby lume etc.

Plenty of threads on the topic here and the conclusion is similar to that of how to spot a redial. It comes down to having handled a lot of watches.

I think sometimes people are too afraid of watches. The lume on this MAY have been re-done but it also MAY NOT. Who knows for sure? If it has been re-done it looks like it was done very well. If it has been what is the real effect on value compared to a watch in identical condition with an awful original lume? Again who can tell if it is unpolished? If it has been it has been done well. It's a good looking example and if I was in the market for one I would not be overly concerned with this one. The movement, bezel and bracelet are right for the age and it supposedly comes with an extract. Not sure what more buyers really want as there are very few 100% correct examples out there.

The case is polished but not touched so much. The bevels are ok and and the lugs are strong. You can notice signs of wear on the caseback before the final polishing. The crown is 100% service. ( with 250€ you can buy the original one on OF).
Regarding the lume.. In the red circle maybe there is the hole of the original lume? I'm not 100% sure.

The indexes are not regular with lume but it's a thing a I saw on some Seamaster 300s in the years and they were not relumed.
A photo under UV will be interesting to see if the Gentleman will come back from holiday 😀
The other parts of the watch are correct.

OP asked for opinions of obvious inconsistencies and they were given

Of course - just want to further point out than in most cases you can tell (as in the OP watch) if a watch has been relumed or polished and it affects the value dramatically. Many people pay a premium for an original example

What I learned is that these holes can also be seen on good relumes. I remember some examples shown here on OF. So holes unfortunately are not always a sign of original lume.

Thanks for all your opinions. It’s already over 8k and 2 hours to go, so it seems there are some optimistic bidders.
