I can only say that he is very loyal to his dealer for serious repeat business. So he doesn’t shop around, and give opportunities for his business often for “another dealer” once he trusts the dealer. He has been all his life, as I have had the pleasure of providing him one of the finest and rare sports cars in the past. And he definitely, definitely dont need to flip cars for money.
He may not need to but it sounds like he does. To buy one unwanted 911 for ones wife sounds like misfortune, two sounds like bs.

I wonder how long it’s going to take before more brands only offer their exclusive cars as leases only. Ford has ongoing issues with the new GT. Porsche is actively trying to prevent flippers and I think the LFA was lease only when it came out.

So basically this poor millionaire can't drive a car in a race. And both him and his poor wife also struggle to understand what type of car might suit a baby seat." Hmmmm mabey We should try another Porsche GT for the kids love. I really can't think of a better option"🤨 haha I do love some of the shit that comes on here.

TL;DR:
Dude gets a discount when ordering a new Porsche because he's a loyal customer.
Car arrives at dealer who by now has another customer willing to pay more for the car.
First dude loses his discount but still gets his ca, is a bit annoyed.

Did I miss anything?

There is no need for dealers to discount the new GT2s/ GT3s. Not even for 'loyal customers', as they are the only ones who have a shot at ordering one.

A friend just took delivery of a GT3 RS. He has gotten a new one every time a new model has come out, except for the last generation. He 'flipped' one a handful of years back; it wasn't his intent when he ordered it, but someone offered him $60k more then he paid for it, so he decided to sell. He did not need the money, but people with the kind of money who can play in this arena generally find it hard to pass up the opportunity to add more money to their bank account.

Just order it online. $244k.

So your saying I need to get on a waiting list for one of these? Seems crazy if that is the case. It's a different world for some.

Yes just because you can place your order doesn’t mean you will get it for a year or longer. It’s not the money but allocation for these type of cars.

The issue is he had a verbal agreement and then the new owners wanted to charge him the same as everyone else.

Man, what a great video and pretty much an exact parallel to all these LE watch market. It's supply and demand and I don't believe for a second that any of us "collectors" wouldn't sell a LE watch allocation if the price was right.

I did figure out how he lost money though. He traded the GT2 back to the dealer which meant he couldn’t flip it for more...
