What conditions trigger that on the forums? Seems to be in private sales?

Some forums require a certain number of posts before listing or, in some cases, even buying on the FS forum.

Of course it doesn't mean you can't contact a seller by Private Message if you want to buy...

Makes sense. If you are well established in the community you have skin in the game.

Under normal circumstances, I'd delete this with a reason of "post farming", but it happens to be perfectly timed and in an appropriate thread.

Again? Really? Maybe there should be a way to make reading all the rules for posting threads in the forums and in sales mandatory, before you can post anywhere.

i lurked the private sales forums and contacted sellers through PM. finally got a deal last week, so it's def possible to start a dialogue without the 200 post rule.

Yeah, I know. Quite a few people are tired of seeing this subject repeated.

Yes. Marty is a rat terrier Chihuahua cross from the shelter little over 2 years ago. He came with the name and we never figured out another. We are also fostering an older small Jack Russell and I picked up an old orphaned Jack working out of state. Hopefully the foster dog goes home before I move back as we don't need 3. ::screwloose::

Well, I am slowly going towards my 200.
Contact the seller or buyer through PM as one does, et voila, contact made and carry on buying or selling. There is no 200 post limit (or privileges) when going through PM. Bought one so far. Too easy. Done deal. Bob's your uncle.
    Regards.

All i can say on bypassing the post count is be careful who your dealing with! Buy the seller not the watch & ALWAYS GET AS MUCH FEEDBACK AS YOU CAN!!!

Didn't even realize there were a minimum post magic number. I've purchased items via pm's and both seller and I were fine.

Unless you want to sell it's really not a problem. While there have been a few times I've wished I could post something in someone else's For Sale thread, I instead sent my comment via PM. And thanks to the PM system, I have been able to inquire further about a few For Sale items and complete two purchases.

It will be a non-issue for me after just a couple most posts, although I have no intention on selling anything any time soon.

** Correction: it will be a non-issue after this post, as I just saw it is #200.

If an item comes up in the WTB section that I may have and want to move on, going through PM is not a problem either, without the required post count. Indeed starting a thread in the For Sale/WTB sections without the 200 post count is difficult. And justifiably so as not every Tom, Dick and Harry may be able to sign up as a member and start selling his wares. eBay and some other sites are the place to go to for sales.
Here, just got my post count up another notch.
    Regards.
