Brits of a certain age will recall

Others may well simply react at this horror

It's a 1st gen (1969) Geneve Dynamic 166.039 that I managed to acquire at auction a couple of months back; it was part of a 2-watch lot, the other being my real interest - though it turned out no bargain as I didn't appreciate quite what a state the dial on the Dynamic was in, until it was in hand.

Still, the watch cleaned up reasonably well and the cost to fix it would be a large part of its worth so I suspect it will remain the ugly sister locked in the tower, brought out now and again when a cut-above-the-rest beater is required.

I like it, quite a lot :) Now, show me your guilty secret...

Smurf blue Benrus on Expandro sparkly bracelet- so tacky it’s cool.

Bought for something like £180; a whole £25 to repair; and, £60 on the strap ... I don't feel guilty at all (OK, I do ... but it makes me smile):

This was one of my first vintage purchases, long before I understood condition condition condition. I've never bonded with it like I thought I would, but it runs so nicely that I can't be bothered to sell it, and so it remains my guilty secret :)

When two pushers and one crown just aren't enough ... !
(Two pushers, three crowns, one outer rotating bezel, one fixed, one inner rotating ring, one fixed. Sub seconds. centre chrono, elapsed minutes and a date complication .... all running from the strangest pitchfork arrangement on a Bettlach movement, that's rivetted together instead of screwed - just for extra strength).

It is the weirdest, fun-est, most cobbled together piece of crap ... I mean, horology .. that you are ever likely to find. And the damn thing is mint. You'll be scared what original versions of these bring on the 'Bay. Even the Chinese copies (and yes, the Chinese are making these having bought the name) are going for up to £400.

I like the strap :p (but would prefer it on a black watch- may I ask where you got it?)

Steveostraps.com - I'm sure we?e spoken about him before? He does great work to order and loves to experiment... meaning that freaks, like me, get to go a little wild with things like this.
