I've kind of soured on NATO straps lately. I think the loop-back portion makes the whole watch seem bulky. But since my tastes are subject to change (don't know if it's temperature, humidity, or barometric pressure, or hormones) I'm keeping the 8-10 I have stored for future mood changes. At the present time I prefer leather straps, which seem to accumulate like stray cats.

It’s the double thickness and the wart on the back of my wrist I can’t stand on a nato- and I have about 30 of them (some very good ones).
I do have some watches that a single pass is perfect for (like fixed lug watches).

This strap is a single piece of shell cordovan At 1mm thick. Silky smooth and adds no bulk.

Simple pin buckle and single keeper. This style doesn’t have to be bulky.

This one is a canvas single pass made by Haveston. These are a little bulkier due to the nature of the fabric, but still a single pass without the bulky lump since it doesn’t fold over on the back- just two keepers.
