Yet Another RIP - Sean Lock

A bit late PSA I guess - comedian Sean Lock died last week, 58 years old.

A few years ago I happened to stumble across the British TV genre of panel shows where a bunch of comedians and perhaps one or two b-list celebs sit down and play a silly parlour game, most often without any real prizes, the focus being on the interaction between the contestants. Since then my girlfriend and I have seen a lot of these programmes.

Sean Lock was a regular on a couple of the shows and while I guess that a lot of Brits know him from elsewhere this is where I knew him from.

He always reminded me a lot of my dad who passed sixteen years ago and I remember thinking that he would have loved watching him and I could completely see them drink a few pints together.

He had caught skin cancer as a young man and recovered and in the end it was lung cancer that got him.

I have been surprisingly saddened by his passing. It's like losing a favourite uncle 馃檨

Yes, very sad indeed. I really like his dry sense of humour. 馃檨

What a man.

A real comic great, and was always a favourite of mine. I actually watched one of his stand ups tonight and then watched the clips above. A sad loss but many laughs left behind.

Yeah such a shame. He always made me laugh on the Countdown show with Jimmy Carr

One of my favourite comedians. Went to one of his gigs a few years ago, genuinely brilliant.

One of the funniest guys I have ever seen. He will certainly be missed by me.
