Yet another DD chrono module question (not service-related!)

First, huge thanks to those who continue to share their expertise on watch mechanics, and in this case (see what I did there?), the Dubois Depraz module.

While checking out a new DD/2892 powered chrono at an AD yesterday, the pusher that engaged the chrono needed to be depressed damn near into the case with just a light, rather wimpy click. When stopping and resetting the chrono hand, the top and bottom pushers both had the expected satisfying click.

Is this engaging the chrono 'mushiness' typical of these modular movements? Again, this is a brand new watch.

My only experience with chronos is the 7750, 7760 and the rather venerable 1861, so this pusher action or feel seemed odd to me.

Thanks!!

My two D-D module watches, 1969 Hamilton and 1993 Omega, have even movement & feel to their pushers, although the Omega needs a much firmer push. Valjoux integrated movements (773x and 93) are much softer but also even on any watch. I think you should try another example of the 2892, that first one would have me sending to the watchmaker.

Cheers, @MRC. That first one is at the AD and is brand new (signs of lots of handling, though). It had been rewrapped (not factory) by a staff member according to the sales fellow. I’m not sure if there should have been a sticker on the case back. I didn’t notice one.
