Hi all! I did a previous post about my dads old speedy: https://omegaforums.net/threads/need-help-and-advice-1966-speedmaster.58844/ And I have a question about it´s dial. The "professional" text is a lot more yellow then the white "Omega Speedmaster" text. I have looked at other dials from the same era and I haven't seen the same phenomenon elsewhere. Any clues? Best regards
Is it possible that the dial might have been replaced during an early service, but only a pre-professional dial was available, so "professional" was added by the watchmaker??
Saw this thread and meant to check my own but kept forgetting at the end of the day. My -66 HF with slightly yellow Professional text:
Ok, so it seems the professional is painted in separately from the other text because it ages in a different manner. Maybe they added the professional on a bunch of "preprofessional" dials.
Some short hand... Close t refers to the distance of the T's on the bottom of the dial around Swiss Made. B2 dial is the dial reference from the book Moon Watch Only aka MWO 64-67 is the year that dial was in production 105.012 is the reference number of the watch with that dial. 105.012 - 63 and 105.012 -66 are the range of sub references the dial is acceptable on.
