My watchmaker confirmed he can fix it more properly, because the replacement is quite expensive:
(prices here are only Omega spare, without hour work):
- new 1666: 860eur
- only the electronic module: 309eur
- a "repaired" 1666, from Omega: 470eur

Worth getting a quote from omega for a complete x-33 service... it’s less than you have been quoted for a new movement and includes new crown, pushers, hands, full seal, etc.

I see, but I'm not sure to want replacement parts... Not sure to mix brand new titanium with a marked case...
It's a 20 yo watch, and I think it must remain "old"...

20 years is nothing. It's not even remotely old. Do not fear factory service in this case.

You’ll quickly mark up the new crown and pushers, and be left with a fully functional, water resistant, omega warrantied X-33.

This “don’t change the crowns or pushers” malarkey that’s pushed by the Speedmaster crowd is insane BTW. NASA use these watches. And they sure as heck aren’t skimping on maintenance.

Ok ok, I understand your opinion.
The water resistance is maybe the thing which will make me change my mind...😁
I would need at least 1 watch I can trust on that point... Because my other watches are surely not water resistant...
👍

As planned, finally repaired by my watchmaker...😁😁
Better than my Aluminium paper...
He has worked with a lathe to increase the height of the pin, and crimped the contact.
Good job... because this part is really really small for my eyes...

I recovered my loud alarm 😁😁!!!!

Total cost: 55eur... !

Actually, MacGyver was almost always in the US, and only had access to plain old aluminum. He didn't have the fancy aluminium that they have in the UK!

That's a nice fix. I was going to suggest conductive epoxy. 😁

What a fix! I can glad there is no more aluminum foil fix ... 😁

I once was quoted by Omega that my X-33 movement was "out of spec" and the service of replacing the movement is USD$500.

I denied the service, DIY my battery change, and continue to wear the watch. 😁

Which means at some point in the not too distant future, you or whoever owns the watch next is going to be paying for a replacement movement.

When they go, they go.

How did you repair it? What sort of aluminum paper did you use and how did you attach it to the battery module?

Aluminium paper from my kitchen...😁

It was not attached, but only pressed by the back of the watch... When electric contact is done between the back and this golden plot, the sound alarm works...
But as I said, my watchmaker repaired it properly, by re-attaching the broken golden finger... I don't know exactly how...
