My son is pondering an X-33 Skywalker and there are none at the local ADs. Does anyone wear a Skywalker with a dress shirt and how does it fit under the cuff? Thanks a lot.

Phew! Took a while but I found it.

An X-33 would look about as silly with a shirt / suit / tie as the HUGE white G-shock I saw the 20 year old doofus / punk at the local bank branch wearing with a shirt & tie.

Seriously, just don't. Teach your kid some class.

He's the only non-astronaut / non-space related employee on the planet that gets a pass.

They are pretty darned chunky @nolawis - I'm a big guy, and wear an 18" collar shirt... the X-33 doesn't fit under my cuffs.

    hope that helps. :)

It fits under cosmonaut Yurchikhin's suit just fine.

    Is your Son OK with a 30 m WR X-33 Skywalker ? The Breitling Cockpit B 50 is its main rival , features a 100 m WR

For illustrative purposes only (I do not wear this watch like this), this is a Gen-1, and on a coramide strap, which wears a lot slimmer than the bracelet on the Skywalker.

I'm also wearing a casual shirt, with wider cuffs than any of my dress shirts.

I think the casing size of 45 mm X-33 is a little deceptive because it wears like a 42 / 43 mm & sits low on the wrist. For Comparison Halios Tropik vs X-33 vs PAM 025[IMG]
If Space Exploration & the International Astronauts associated with the X-33 ignites the passion & confidence in your Son , I see no reason why he shouldnt own one...

Get the x33 if he loves it and an orient bambino to wear with cuffed shirts. An extra 200 bucks is not huge at that point.

There's nothing wrong with wearing any luxury watch with a suit and tie.

First: who's really going to notice?

Second (and most disappointing for WIS'ers): Who's going to care?

Yes, there are some of us who read Men's Fashion magazines which monthly advise us to do something that last month was a fashion faux pas. But, really, how many of those folks are there?

Wear what you wear, wear it well, and no one will care.

    Plus the X-33 is cool.

    Kind Regards,

    Ben

Ben, Ben, Ben...... if not for us, who would be the keepers of the rules of properness when it comes to correct dress as it pertains to watches?

*** If anyone reading this wears sandals & cut off jean shorts with a t-shirt to a gathering please stop reading now before your brain fries from overload.

You can either be a schlub and not care, or you can be a distinguished gentleman and let subtleness talk for you. If you want women (and I mean ladies, not bimboes) to know you're a man of taste, you DO NOT wear a 45+ mm tool watch with a suit. The saying goes that people listen harder when you whisper. An X-33 does not know how to do anything but yell. Trust me, I've had women remark several times that my watch was very attractive and didn't scream "LOOK AT ME!" like some of the other males at the same gathering. That almost always happens when I'm wearing either of my AP vintage dress watches which are both small by today's standards. Peacock syndrome drives more ladies away than it attracts. Have some class and join the movement to bring back refinement.

It would be great if it could fit under a dress shirt cuff... since it can't it a moot point.

    Chacun a son gout?

Now if it doesn't fit under a cuff that's a horse of a different color. I have happily worn my Gen. 1 X-33 under a cuff many times, and it is worlds more understated than a G-Shock or Invicta.

All that stated, some of the most common watches I see today (in courtrooms), beyond the Apple watch, are Timex-type watches being worn by all sorts wearing suits. Do I agree with this? Not necessarily, but people still drive Harley's when there are (perspective respective) better options available.

In a perfect world I'm wearing a Calatrava under my shirt sleeve. But a Submariner would be the next best option for me - better than the arguably more apropos Seiko Sarb065.

    Kind Regards,

    Ben
