·I have finally joined the Seiko club. This is my first and only Seiko, I have been on the fence for years and finally found a too-good-go-be-true deal and took the plunge. Turned out it was too good to be true as when it arrived the watch wouldn't keep time lying on its back (as in stopped dead after a few seconds). Turns out the lower balance jewel and retainer were out. Had my guy put those back in and it's keeping time perfectly.
I have to say, this is probably one of my new favorites. It reminds me of my old Jeep in that it has quirky good looks in a very dated way, is nearly indestructible, and I really couldn't care what happens to it which is very liberating.
