I have finally joined the Seiko club. This is my first and only Seiko, I have been on the fence for years and finally found a too-good-go-be-true deal and took the plunge. Turned out it was too good to be true as when it arrived the watch wouldn't keep time lying on its back (as in stopped dead after a few seconds). Turns out the lower balance jewel and retainer were out. Had my guy put those back in and it's keeping time perfectly. I have to say, this is probably one of my new favorites. It reminds me of my old Jeep in that it has quirky good looks in a very dated way, is nearly indestructible, and I really couldn't care what happens to it which is very liberating.
Ran across a seller on Ebay, based in Japan, who has a rather large selection of very cherry looking Seikos, some very very nice ones. Prices are probably what the market allows. He has a 100% approval rating and a long history, so I guess you'd get what you pay for. https://www.ebay.com/usr/nonkun0508?_trksid=p2047675.l2559
Well just added this SRPE37K1 to my growing Seiko and watch family. Just couldn’t resist the dial and the addition of sapphire Crystal and ceramic bezel to thier Samuri range and it wears loverly on the wrist
New addition for me too. SPB149 very impressed with the dimensions and the finish. Clasp cover is the only weak point.
