You live in Cebu City? Neat! Tried Filipino food for the first time yesterday

Like our has-much-nicer-watches-than-me friend pongster said we relocated back to USA after almost 15 years living and working in Cebu. Although my wife was born in the Philippines her family is from California and New Jersey and she is of Lebanese, Spanish and Japanese ancestry. She doesn't have a drop of Filipino blood in her so her cooking tends to be different than the standard Filipino fare. She is addicted to the cooking channels and is famous for her pizza and bread. She makes home-grown videos with our kid on cooking and our relatives and friends enjoy them but to me they are snooze-fests aside from me getting to eat the stuff 😁

Can anyone please tell me if 27Jewel Bellmatics (4006-7012) were still being made in 1973? I I thought they were discontinued earlier than that but I'm considering one at the moment that dates to that year according to the case-back. Maybe they were still being made for the Japanese domestic market in '73?

Thank you.

Yes please. Big +1 for a Seiko sub forum!

Owning a dark blue dialed Seiko Presage "Cocktail Time" and a 144.022-69 Speedmaster, a nice white dialed watch has been on my list for a little while. I've been eyeing the Rolex Oyster Perpetual 39mm 114300, but this beautifully photographed Seiko SARX033 really caught my eye and might just have moved to the top of my list.

Edit: Had to add a photo of my Seiko:

Hey, thank you for the compliment on the photo, she's a real looker when the light is just right!

I would never say the Presage SARX033 is in the same league as the OP 114300, as it is also about $4.5K less to buy than the Rolex, but it (definitely) punches well above its weight from a quality and finish perspective. The SARX033 is perfectly sized at 40.8mm diameter (w/o crown), 11.5 mm thickness and houses the workhorse 6R15 movement - which has consistently outperformed the specs running regularly at +6 seconds per day.

Good luck on your hunt for the perfect white dial!

Edit: SARX033 from WRUW on 2 July 2020

Ladies (34mm) presage. My wife likes red, so this will be a christmas present. Nice size for a guy, IMO.

Not sure if this is welcome in this thread.

I read somewhere that yema is/was called seiko of europe.

also, seiko used to own yema.

and this particular one has a seiko movement. 😀

In superb condition 4006- 6011 from January 73.
I've thrown on a gold colour bracelet just to see me through until a original turns up.
May be a long wait…!
Have a good weekend.

Like my Paul Peugeot I posted earlier on. It used a licensed copy of an older Seiko hand wound movement.
