I'm so glad I ordered this watch! It was a blind buy but I was quite nervous how it'll look but these pictures are just so gorgeous the watch is so unique and the colour makes it look like a real turtle! I cant wait till I receive it.
It really is a great watch & the way the light changes the bezel & dial colour just add to the experience . You won't be disappointed with it & look forward to you posting some pictures when it arrives 馃憤

Triple incoming (including two seikos)

But none for me. All three, gifts for fellow watch lover friends.

I would very much like to be your friend 馃槈

Hey guys,

Wasn't really sure where to post this but here seems the best bet!

I have a family member I'm trying to obtain a birth year Seiko for (1969) and have found this:

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/363020943284

To my untrained eye, it looks legit, if not a bit pricy. I'll ask for a movement shot from the seller also.

Would value the seiko afficianados opinion 馃榾

The best advice I can offer is do as much research as you can on the watch you are considering.

While the case appears to retain some of its original finish the case back has been scratched from previous attempts to open and the lume on the hands has some deterioration.

I'd value this around 拢40-50.

You may also have to consider the cost of a service.

This 1970 resist-resist 6105-8009 is just back from service and restoration. Adrian at VTA did a full service, installed jewels in the auto-winder, and replaced the seals, including repacking the original crown. It's keeping great time, auto-winding smoothly, and passed a 100m pressure test. Surprisingly, he was even able to remove much of the crud on the hands, which I assumed was mold or corrosion, and it looks much better cosmetically. Nice enough to wear but not too nice to worry about wearing.

A sort of Asian Tin Tin.
Reminiscent of the hat bands of some police departments. More likely meant to bring to mind the checkered flags of the race track.
