It really is a great watch & the way the light changes the bezel & dial colour just add to the experience . You won't be disappointed with it & look forward to you posting some pictures when it arrives

    Hey guys,

Wasn't really sure where to post this but here seems the best bet!

I have a family member I'm trying to obtain a birth year Seiko for (1969) and have found this:

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/363020943284Purchases made through these links may earn this site a commission from the eBay Partner Network

To my untrained eye, it looks legit, if not a bit pricy. I'll ask for a movement shot from the seller also.

Would value the seiko afficianados opinion :)

The best advice I can offer is do as much research as you can on the watch you are considering.

While the case appears to retain some of its original finish the case back has been scratched from previous attempts to open and the lume on the hands has some deterioration.

    I'd value this around £40-50.

You may also have to consider the cost of a service.

Again, none for me. For my business partners.

I’m with @omegaswisst on this one this watch is very very over priced for a 5 and do some further research.
This tool is awesome for dating Seikos, so find some other Seikos and plug it into this tool, and it should tell you a watch’s precise age.

This 1970 resist-resist 6105-8009 is just back from service and restoration. Adrian at VTA did a full service, installed jewels in the auto-winder, and replaced the seals, including repacking the original crown. It's keeping great time, auto-winding smoothly, and passed a 100m pressure test. Surprisingly, he was even able to remove much of the crud on the hands, which I assumed was mold or corrosion, and it looks much better cosmetically. Nice enough to wear but not too nice to worry about wearing.

Had this vintage Sport for a few weeks but had to track down a couple of extra links for the original bracelet... found and on the wrist today...

A sort of Asian Tin Tin.
Reminiscent of the hat bands of some police departments. More likely meant to bring to mind the checkered flags of the race track.
