I feel Seiko, isn’t really in the same watch category as Omega, or other higher end watches. Seiko are great watches no doubts, but so are many other brands. I can see a Grand Seiko category fitting better.
, or maybe a new “Under $1k watches category”?
As the thread Seikos!!! nears 1,000 posts I think we should consider adding a section for Seiko. The area for other watch brands has the eta emblem on it. Seikos are highly regarded amoung most here, and I think it is time Seiko gets the recognition it deserves. For me Seiko is always between first and second place with Omega, a good 80% of my watches are Seiko. Regards- Orion

Since obtaining a vintage Paul Peugeot with its licensed copy of an older Seiko movement and noticing that some medium priced watches (from a company that will remain nameless) uses Seiko movements, I wonder how many brands use the Seiko movements.
I recently bought a Caravel quartz Chronograph, a lower end Bulova product, that had an un named Japanese movement. I've read there's a connection between Bulova and Citizen so it more likely a Citizen than a Seiko movement.
I gave the Caravel to a nephew since it was bigger than advertised and I prefer a smaller case watch. Excellent watch though.
Back to the subject. Is there any way of finding out which brands use Seiko movements or licensed copies?
