Hi all, is there a way I can date my rather loved (aka battered!) skx013?

KS 4502-8010 manual wind, off-white sunburst dial, Superior Chronometre with KS signed buckle. I love the old KS and GS lines with COSC movements and markings!

Yeah, the first 2 digits of the serial no tell you the year and month. IIRC, the 13 came out late 1990s so if the first digit is >=6 then it could be 96 otherwise a low number would likely be 200x. The 2nd digit is the month (1=Jan, 9=Sept, 0=Oct, N=Nov and D=Dec).

Do you have an idea of how old the watch is?

Perfect, many thanks! I don't have an idea of the age but the lume is creamy and the bezel faded and worn...

Having found a picture of the case back its either June 1997, 2007 or 2017. Judging by the state of the bezel id say 97 or at a push 07 are most likely; unless it's had a brutal couple of years since manufacture!

Thanks again.

Here's a rare 5626-7090 Chronometer:
It is a King Seiko in all but name. In many years of collecting Seiko's I have found very few signed Chronometer that are not KS or GS.
I think this one is particularly attractive.
