Seiko # 3. The spaceship has landed- direct from Miyazaki!!! Seiko Speedtimer
6139-7020 off the ‘Bay for $500. Love the warm champagne dial and the whole layout period. The orange and yellow hands really play up the sporty genre too.
I've bought from that seller, multiple times: always very happy with the outcome.

I’m happy w the Speedtimer I’ve bought from Nonkun .. Have you ever bought from Arbitro (Tokyo)? My other vintage Seiko was from them. So far, I’ve been very happy w both sellers.

Floored by this one.

Seiko price entry is beyond me. Its so cheap it's ridiculous.

Bought this to satiate me while I wait for my grail to be done at the spa.

A Seiko 5605 7020, with a freaking linen dial and AML.

Runs like a champ too.

Seiko Lords are a great value. Finishing and styling are wonderful for the price points. I’ve been thinking of adding one myself. So many Seikos to admire.

Nice watch sdre. Congrats. Agree that Seiko plus their LM, KS, and GS lines have much to offer. I especially like how you have shown your LM on the three different straps to either dress it up or cool it down to a more casual look.

That last brown strap with the cream stitching is particularly appealing with the linen dial, IMHO.

OK, I missed it.... What grail is at the spa?

Thanks! Yeah I try to change it around and the Seiko wears them all like a champ.

I'll share the grail in a seperate post when it gets here

I would be very interested to hear what you all think about this one - the Topper Seiko Prospex SPB107, limited to 500 pieces? I am in the UK but have just paid £500 deposit (total price £1,000) - it should hopefully arrive in sometime in July. I really like it; a nice distraction from the various Omega models coming out this year! Cheers.😀👎

I was considering this as well! However, I decided after a long while; a "black" watch per se won't be something that I wear often so I decided to pass on it.

Yep, my thoughts exactly but the finish on this particularly model looks really attractive. The problem is that I can’t just nip over to California to see it in the flesh so I suppose I’m taking a bit of a risk with this one! Also surprising that Topper still appears to be accepting deposits despite there being limited to ‘only’ 500 🤔...

Curious as to how different this LE Seiko Ninja’s black case looks as opposed to the previous PVD versions. I’m sure it’ll be no less than stunning in the various lights

This is my only Seiko, I love the pattern on the dial as it looks different depending on how the light catches it.

I'd really like to pick up one of those weekdater models next. Ideally the one where the day of the week is at 6.

I've noticed certain Seiko replacement movements being sold on Ebay at reasonable prices (circa 35 USD).
Would it be kosher to pick up a mechanicly worn out but otherwise salvageable collectible Seiko and put it back in working order using a drop in replacement movement of the same model?
If so would it really be worth the effort?

Depends on the model and if there is a subvariant movement. A few have a/b movement updates.
