I feel a little uncomfortable wearing this watch in my rotation because it has no water resistance at all (box pushers and snap back case) and no shock protection (the early 321s did not have Incabloc balance cocks, not until 1945).

Normally, these things wouldn’t bother me too much, but this piece is different.

Even as a diehard ‘I won’t buy it if I won’t wear it’ lunatic, there are some watches I own that I’m preserving, instead of wearing. I guess this is about to be one of those.

Ah well, I’m enjoying its tour in the sunlight today.

What's a few hands, a little patina, and an applied logo between friends?

Mine is from circa 1950, so has Incabloc.

Beautiful dial! But, isn’t it hard to wear today without a strap or bracelet?

My 1951, with a radium version of the same dial.

Get a strap!

Rare 1960’s Baylor “Captain Cook” - Ref. 10506 - cal A.S. 1713. Presumably manufactured by Rado for Baylor Watch Co. as we have seen with many other pieces such as chrono’s by Heuer. Same stadium bezel, broad arrow hour hand and incredible gray dial as the famous Captain Cook.

Given the downpour we have just experienced and the boys have still to have the last walk of the day a 'Newmark' is the sensible choice,
t.b.h. I just fancied a change 😀
