This is going in for service soon, despite being basically brand new at <6 months old and worn once per week or less. When you manually wind it, the rotor spins. Apparently manual winding the H-10 movement is ill-advised.
I’m not thrilled.

Where are you playing this game? "boćanje" (in croatian) is like a national sport in this part of Europe including Italy. Nice watch btw ::psy::

Thanks for the props - it was in a secret little urban square just south of the Thames river in London, where they insist on calling it "pétanque", just so we know how cosmopolitan they are!

And is spinning rotor while winding a bad thing? I noticed exact same thing happening when I manually wind my Tissot ballade powermatic 80; maybe I should not be doing that.

It means there is (likely) a problem with the reversing wheel. I’m sure @Archer could be more specific and speak with authority.

Exactly what I'm doing. Just working out the logistics, i've never sent anything back to Hamilton before.

Do not wind the H-10 movement, well that’s a sod if you wear the watch on rotation as part of a collection, so you have to wear it all the time or does a good shake work better for those times when the watch has run down.

It will be interesting to see how this pans out when you send the watch back.

Hope all works out okay.

I was more than a little annoyed to read that manually winding the H-10 tends to cause this. IMHO if the movement design doesn't tolerate manual winding, don't make it an option! My Seiko with the 7S36B movement is like that, you can't manually wind it, need to give it a shake or two to get it started.

Think this is generally a minor problem, as long as the watch is functioning well otherwise it should be a simple fix. Often just poor lubrication in the winding mechanism.

I've got two watches doing this now, both older and lower-end movements. Both still keep time though.
