Recently acquired from its original owner, a former RN Fleet Air Arm Pilot (Gannets, Buccaneers, and Phantoms). They both went into the drink during the Falklands War and, happily, both came out ticking along just fine. Generously, he sent along a slew of photos about his time in service, which had me both in awe and in stitches.
That's a really handsome watch, IMHO, @JwRosenthal. I have never seen that model "23". You have inspired me to wear one of mine today, a 1958 model "K" with the 10BPAC movement having six adjustments. The "23s" are really great vintage watches, and are an affordable option for anyone looking for a vintage piece. I believe there were over 100 model variations, so there is something for most every taste. Too lazy to take a new wrist shot.
My first Omega - a 613. I went onto eBay and bid on it. I hadn’t ever heard of OF, much less visited it. Only with hindsight do I now realise how lucky I was with this purchase.
