Today with the nice Zenith A 3736 from 1969 In all original condition but worn as diver watch for years. I love that used condition when it is used but never been to service in the DNA parts of this lovely piece are all present HAGWE OF Friends
Do you mind if I ask who did the re-lum work on this dial and hands? I'm finding there are some very good practitioners out there these days. The one I like most is in NC. It's good that collectors haven't rejected good re lum work. It can really bring back an old dial and make it handsome.
We were discussing these watches just a few days ago. Good memories. So much so that I went and found a NOS copy of the Seiko I bought after the gold chronograph. I loved that watch in the 80s. Just noticed that the dial is so busy and confusing that I was holding it upside down in the photo. My other excuse is that I have been wearing the Heuer Viceroy "lefty" a bit lately, and that crown on the left is almost as bad as having the steering wheel on the right/wrong side of the car.
I love that look. Have you tried it with a strap that looks well-worn? Same as this old sign is my fav no matter how many clean ones I have.
Nope, that's the only strap it's had since acquisition a few years ago. You're right, of course - it would look more appropriate with a worn leather strap. Inspired, Art
One of my pals gave me scraps of grey elephant leather from a pair of boots he had years ago. I was going to have it made into a strap for my ref 3697, but it might work even better on this ref 2099. Best, Art
