The only down side of this beauty: no quick set on the date... View attachment 471821 [/QUOTE] You should make me live with that hardship.
A 24 jewel 552 movement Seamaster. Serial number is over 18.7 million, ref. # 14700 sc-61. I was hoping this would be a 1962 birth year watch, but it is probably late in '61, but not a bad guess when buying it without movement pics. It keeps perfect time and my watchmaker opened it today and declared it in good shape and said wear it. It is missing the insert on the 1 indice, but came with the BoR bracelet and didn't break the bank, so I am happy for now. A special thanks to ChrisN for all the time he has spent with me on this since I have bought it. You folks here are very giving with your time and knowledge as long as one is willing to put in a little effort of our own into learning. McK
I said I would sell my Ed White when prices hit $25k. Who knows when, but I'm thinking this one is going to remain with me for a good long time.
Pic from earlier today at the gym...the meatheads always think twice about kicking sand in Mad Dog's face at the gym...because Mad Dog wears two watches [a Seiko 6309-7049 and a Seiko SRP777K1] on one camo band at the gym...as well as matching camo cargo shorts. Very intimidating. Yes.
Just a strap change for today. Usually use this B&S strap with my Speedy but goes well with a jumbo Connie.
