Touché. I think redundancy when you have a large collection may make sense. But to me, if I'm going to keep my collection to 3-4 pieces that I'm going to wear regularly, I couldn't see having such similar watches. Even the same watch with different dial colors makes sense to me, not sure I would do it, but I see why people do.
Last night I went to the first Grant Park Symphony concert in several years (long overdue), in Chicago's Millenium Park, at the Pritzker Pavilion designed by Frank Gehry, and wore this...
It date night and I expect to do some swimming so I wore one of my divers, a recently acquired samurai released at Basel world this year.
Grandpa's watch today. This was my wife's grandfather's watch, given to him by the Winterthur Locomotive factory when he finished working there. So, a genuine Swiss watch gifted for retirement!
Sunday. Last day of the Calgary Stampede and Rodeo. My fiddle group is on stage tonight, so I needed a watch with a bit of "bling". My 27 year old Speedmaster reduced, 18-karat rose gold bezel. A joy to wear. As far as I am aware, Omega didn't produce a steel and rose gold bracelet to fit to this watch. I bought it with a cheesy strap which a/ was too short for my big wrist, and b/ I hated it. The steel and yellow gold bracelet looked awful on it as well, so I added an all steel Omega bracelet.
