Form-wise, it's not far off from an Apple watch And in its time it was pretty cutting-edge. Here's a fascinating article on the Marine Chronometer by the Forum's own @Bill Sohne http://www.chronomaddox.com/omega_megaquartz_2400.html
Beyond cutting edge J in LA. An incredible application of technology and watchmaking IMHO. And still one of the most accurate personal timepieces you can wear. Outside of time radio signal vanishingly few watches could match it. Plus at the time your watch was crazy money. Like you could buy ten Rolex Subs for the price crazy money. Omega's contribution to that period of quartz timekeeping innovation is unmatched in the industry anywhere in the world. And sadly too often forgotten. Including by Omega themselves. Check out their history timeline on their official website and you'll find your watch, but they don't even mention the Q word. Or any of their other innovations of that time. I understand the marketing aspect of it all, because quartz is now seen as "cheap and nasty" and below "real" horology, but that's a real pity IMHO.
This is what I love about this forum you can not only see some great watches but you learn about them in detail.. thanks for sharing
Completed my third wedding. Not too bad, third one in 15 years. Note, I was officiant and not the groom.
King Crimson... and a Seiko Diver. great icons that have gone through a few updates since the late 60's.
