Was using it to time a bike ride this morning. Unfortunately, like a tempermental '50s sports car, it is acting up, namely the top pusher is now stuck Hopefully an easy fix for my watchmaker next week...
Switching to a new acquisition -- well, reacquiring an identical watch that I used to own in the '80s-90s and have since regretted selling. It was the first "real" watch I bought for myself in those days (1987) soon after college. I loved it, but hated at the time having to pay $$ to have the battery changed every 3 years, with new gaskets, etc. I sold it on eBay in about 1999. It's a bit small compared to my Subs and GMTs, but I am getting used to it (again) on the wrist very quickly. I remember at the time that the models with steel bracelets were quite a bit more (mine was $150), but I liked this better. It came in all sorts of cool colors. I think the current distortions that Tag-Heuer has made to this model are garish and ugly, but these original ones still excite me.
I worked a job tonight where wearing a 4 or 5 figure watch is not a smart idea. So I wore this eco drive; really enjoyed it and it helped make the night fly by:
To answer the puzzled looks on fellow members' faces, I (re)-bought this one basically to have as a travel watch; planning a trip to Hawaii soon. I thought it would fit the bill. It is sort of vintage, in any case (at least the modest size is).
