It doesn't really get hot, but it's dunked in all kinds of car related fluid and chemicals, plus the bezel and crystal on a speedy is a bit "catchy" for engine bays. I can't afford to buy many "pricey" watches and I can't bring myself to do it to my speedy. The only watch that's lasted more than two years is my tissot Prs200 (that things taken punishment that watches twice it's price have not) broken crystals and bracelets and seal perishing leading to fluid ingress has happened commonly to others.
