Unless good advice is received on how to further restore this holster, it's finished here on Speedy Tuesday. This was the collectible holster equivalent of a watch with a dial modified by a hack. The holster is very rare. I should have done a better job of researching the holster to know if it was suppose to have a cover for the revolver's hammer spur. It wasn't suppose to and the flap was an addition. So, I had to undertake to rehabilitate the holster. There's nothing that can be done to repair the holes that the non-factory stitching left in the holster's mouth. Still, if one crosses his eyes to take them out of focus, it almost looks like a part of the tooling. The glue which was also used to attach the flap, caused a thin leather membrane to peel away from the holster's mouth leaving the edges very rough. It's been smoothed as best as it could be. At least the floral tooling that was underneath the flap was retained in fairly good condition. Anyway, the holster is better now and perhaps worth a bit more on the antique and vintage holster collector's market. More importantly to me, it's period correct for the revolver which was produced in 1931. Photos of the holster's"before and during" the rehab is on this page. https://omegaforums.net/threads/wruw-today.567/page-3056#post-609935
