Tom, any chance you could post a pic of those hands when they are not crossing an hour marker? I'm curious to see how far they extend towards the minute track.

That is such a cool watch and name! Gothameter! I tried researching it quick on the net and typed Gothamater. Don't do that, I guess that's something else...

Hadn't worn this one for a while. i sold this watch to its original owner back in 1969. 46 years ago! I was in retail jewellery at the time. Back in the day, Bulova tied this model into the space program, associating the name Apollo with a series of 218 Accutrons that featured this dial. The original owner and his wife continued to be customers of mine for my entire career in retail. By about 2005 or so, he was no longer able to read the time on his Accutron, so he

bought a Timex quartz with a "grandpa" dial. He phoned me to tell me he wanted me to have his original Accutron! In 46 years, it has only been serviced once......by me. After I acquired it.

Lovely 176.001. My 176.007 has the same dial, with "Omega" above "Seamaster" above "Automatic". The vast majority have "Automatic" above "Seamaster". No idea why there were variations. Part of the fun of collecting I suppose!

Great story!
