The mystery watch.

Yeah, I bought it on a whim only to discover upon opening it was a Roamer circa 1948, needed a lens polish and a new 3rd wheel, some keen watchmaker had done a repair in the past to the 3rd wheel which had a broken pinion by welding a new one on but he didn't get it precisely centralised making running performance intermittent.
I am not sure if it started life as a sterile dial which is possible at that time or whether some enthusiastic watchmaker just wanted to clean it up however it certainly has nice dial furniture and is very photogenic and a jumbo of it's day.

Speedmaster Pilot hard at work.
That's a lot of knobs n buttons n lights n levers! Where's the one that says: "Do Not Push This Button"? I've always wondered what that one did.

Back to the beater.

Mine sends salutations. Not currently on my wrist. A bit unusual to find a manual winder with day and date.

Lawn chores today. The beater watch's case is sort of gummed up. Gonna have to do something about that.

I purposely kept that button out of the shot 🫢. That’s the “Chemtrail” button 🤪

Finally dipped my toe into the titanium pool and for a pretty inexpensive price. It is super comfortable and compliments my other watches nicely. 😊
