First few days of my summer break and I've just finished this. Just one word sums it up brutal. The clash of cultures was so great there was never going to be a peaceful solution. Fascinating reading.
I've also lined up a couple of autobiographies. Guy Martin and Richard Rawlings. From what I've seen on TV I like them both. Let's hope there an interesting read.

Best fiction book I've read in a long time. It's not a true sci-fi novel either, that just serves as the setting.
