Well, Boxing Day Eve, not today. But close. Owing to shift work commitments by one of our family on Christmas Day, we had Christmas dinner on Boxing Day night. We had a bottle of Martini & Rossi Sparkling white wine. Oh, could I get to like that! M M Good!

Started with Murray's number one whisky for 2016 and moved to

it finishes with a dark chocolate flavour. We then decided to wake up the tastebuds with this

From there we went to a distiller that burned down in 2002 (Little Mill)

And finished with my favorite

Turned out to be a good day.....馃榾

Dude, that sucks! That's another reason why a short decant beforehand is always good.

That sucks! When did you buy it? Was it just recently?

We had the restaurant decant it, the cork crumbling was the first warning sign despite it being cellared for at least the last 25 years, which is about how long ago it was purchased. Once we gave it some time there were some hints on the nose that it might be bad. I took a sip and it wasn't too bad and then all of the sudden fell flat and dirty. Three of the restaurant staff that weren't even working our table came by to offer condolences, lol.

Laphroaig malt with a fantastic Fuente Opus X in Vegas

I'm trying to read my way through this thread, having just found this site. Were you at Casa Fuentes for this combination?

I had the opportunity to attend The Big Smoke in Vegas a couple of years ago and spent all the rest of my time either there or at the Ruhm Bar.

BTW - you are a marvelous drinker....

Yes, Casa Fuentes. Just lacking an outdoor patio or it would be perfect. Thanks for the heads up on Rhum Bar. Although I hit Vegas 4 or 5 times a year, I've never tried that place. Definitely will be visiting it on the next trip.

This is fortunately not a limited edition. One of my favorite of their offerings, I prefer it as espresso (not lungo). So rich and sweet...

Well it is NYE on this side of the International Date Line.

A Bannockburn Pinot, a 2002 Bin 28 and a 1998 Rioja Gran Reserva is on the cards.

Oh and my New Year present from Sergio
