Hope you picked Agassiz as the manufacturer

Nope. Back in the 80’s, reference material was very hard to access. I knew it was a high quality movement, in a solid gold case, that appeared to run. I can’t have paid more than $150 for it.

Until very recently, it’s been put away. I doubt I’ve had it in my hands more than a couple of dozen times in the thirty years I’ve had it. So, I never bothered to check.

Therefore, I am in your debt, @TexOmega !

I'm not sure how old this is. It's marked USSR which might give a clue. If I can get the back off I'll add another pic.
We'll here's the insides. Not a lot to write home about.

Not wearing this today (still need to have it serviced), but used it as a prop for team building (all those parts working towards a common purpose...) at a staff retreat this week. 1924 Hamilton 912, still running flawlessly.

For a change, my 18-size Hamilton 941, the hunter cased version of the very popular 18-size Hamilton 940. The 940 was probably one of the most popular 18-size railroad watches.

When I bought this the 4 was missing off the dial. Got lucky and found a decent replacement with hands I liked better. Still have the originals though.

It ain’t Friday...but I wore my Hammy Niner Fife Zero to Church today [Sunday]...and I’m happy to report that I didn’t drop either one of the Holy Communion plates. 👍

An early Hamilton for this week

And a top of the line Waltham

Honestly, I think all self respecting watch enthusiasts should own at least one high quality pocket watch that’s at least pre WWII.

And they’re certainly cheap enough.

On Friday, my Waltham 18-size, 17-jewel, 1883 CPR model. Oddly, these are single roller, stem set movements. Quite unlike by far the majority of 18-size watches for railroad use. Every CPR 1883 model has been the same. And their 1892 CPR model, also stem set!

Just landed - this insanely rare Universal Geneve Compax Chrongraph pocket watch from about 1944. 14k yellow gold, about 44mm, with a gorgeous radium dial. It’s one of only a handful known worldwide (I am aware of about 5 others around the world) ...but if there are others out there, PLEASE let me know!

So am I the only contributor to this thread that wore a pocket watch today? Today it was my “N” size E Howard hunter in its original gold filled case by Muir. This is a fifth model, built circa 1884. This watch was not make by the E Howard successor, the Keystone Howard Watch co. which was founded orca 1903.

I carried this today. Colt 45 stainless commander with elephant ivory grips in a Mitch Rosen shoulder rig.
