I always have a couple of pocket watches on my desk. Today a Queensland railways Moeris and my Patek Philippe from 1910. Te Patek is currently running at about +1 min/day the Moeris loses a couple of mins/day. The chain on the Moeris is a bit speciaal, graduated in size from the middle. Some pictures
Bought this yesterday better not get too interested could turn out expensive The movements on some of these watches are amazing and because of how the cases are made very easy look at
A bit late to this thread but to be honest that is nothing unusual, used to have quite a number of pw's mostly military but now only this French piece purchased in a 'Brocante' several years ago. Don't sleep very well these days and keep this piece by my bedside, nothing nicer than listening to a pocket watch in the wee small hours
Hamilton "Traffic Special" discovered while visiting family in rural Montana last month 10K gold filled case by the Star Watch Company and powered by the 17-jewel caliber 974 Special it was just delivered to my watchmaker for a full service
Well...it ain’t Friday yet...but Mad Dog is reporting in for Waltham Wednesday duty in Cincinnati [Ohio]. Railroad grade 23j Vanguard 1908 with wind indicator in factory case...circa late 1920s...
I'm not sure how old this is. It's marked USSR which might give a clue. If I can get the back off I'll add another pic.
WRUCarrying Friday coming up! My entry is another nice piece from my 80’s auction days. At the time, I didn’t recognize the manufacturer, but I did recognize a quality movement.
And an unusually high quality Hampden that is just now getting its first servicing in my care. (I’ve never wound it, let alone worn it thus far.)
This hysterical ad from ‘68 (courtesy of Etsy) celebrates pocket watches and Fridays, or at least the end of the workday
