Would you put a golden dial in an SS version?

Suppose you have an SS watch with a shitty dial(in bad condition I mea, would you replace it with a mint dial from the gold plated version of the same watch?

I wondered about it myself. In a way it's a franken watch even though it's all genuine parts.

But for a daily beater, why not?

There is a pretty decent sized group of members here that has no issue with modded watches, as long as the watches are clearly stated to be modded or obviously modded. Especially with speedmaster, dial swaps, hand swaps, not uncommon at all. Mostly you see mitsukoshi or Japan racing dials, Apollo dials... sometimes just hand swaps. I don't think that I have seen a stainless speedy with an old school gold dial but it sounds fun.

As long as you're happy with the results it's your watch.

I am only talking about a genuine dial from the gold plated version of the same watch though. I often feel like golden dials are more beautiful.
