Hi everyone, I’m considering buying either a used Speedy Tuesday 1 or an Apollo 11 45th anniversary and I need some help choosing. The Speedy Tuesday doesn’t have the red card which I’m not sure is such a big issue or not? The Apollo 11 has both red cards in the box. I love both watches (wife prefers the Apollo 11 45th) and I really can’t decide....even though the Apollo is $1500 more expensive. Head says Apollo 11....but I keep thinking about the ST1 and I love that it’s like the 1978 radial dial...and I was born in 1978 so there’s that reason. They’re both quite pricey but comparable to others in chrono 24.....and they’re both local to me so I don’t have to pay any import tax. So which should I choose? Help please!!!
Both good picks. I would have no preference, depends on price and what makes you feel best when strapped on your wrist.
Plenty of #ST1s out there will all the proper papers, etc. If you want one, go for full documents if possible. (it won't matter 10 years down the road, but if there is any chance you may need to sell it in the shorter term it will likely be easier if it has everything with it) But out of the 2, I would give the nod to the A11 if I could swing the additional $.
Hard one, but I have the ST1 so I would pick 45th My vote is the good old moon watch new, if it’s your first Speedmaster go the standard and take a holiday with what you save. ( or buy another watch ) SNPR strap
Well this will be my third Speedy....Tintin and Moon to Mars are the others. Tried on a Submariner today....geez that pre-ceramic is small.
If you're buying it to wear it, get the cheaper one. If your'e buying it to test drive it and flip it, then go for the full box and papers. IMHO B&P are overrated on a "contemporary" used watch that will be worn. Seems like everyone is a collector vs. an owner nowadays.
It worked out well in the end and you got the one I think you always wanted. I personally would be a little suspicious of a watch 2 years old that didn’t have papers with regards to where it was come from and where it’s been. No excuse in two years not to have everything still with it.
