This is only my second Omega, but super excited to receive it - just ordered and I love the dial so much. The movement dates to 1944 but my understanding was that the Seamaster wasnt around til 1948. I'm assuming this was a re-case from the original? Is there anyway to get more information? Thanks for any comments and help!
Oh dear. When you tire of that, and you will when you realise it is a put together with a repainted dial, you will be stuck with it. Can you send it back?
I don’t think I will be rushing to use Cliff Knuckey’s watchmaking services either. That looks filthy.
I wonder where the caseback gasket is. Filthy maybe not, it could be corrosion marks/pitting. Not worth more than the sum of its parts (movement + case, dial is not worth anything imho), i.e. not much.
As has been said above, a real dogs dinner of a put together watch. Poor redial, incorrect seconds hand and crown. The incorrect and too early movement does not belong in that over polished 2767 case. The 2767 was introduced in 1954. Reason enough on its own to return it I would hope for you https://www.omegawatches.com/watch-omega-seamaster-omega-ko-2767
Send it back. Case is so overpolished it hurts to see, dial is a bad fantasy and movement does look really filthy all over it.
