Good day all! I was wondering if it was possible to add a hesalite crystal to a sapphire sandwich Speedmaster Moon Watch ref. 3573.50. Are there any differences in the design of the cases 3570 (145.0022) and 3573 (145.0811)? I know that in the 3573, the sapphire crystal remains in place via plastic gasket while the hesalite is installed on the 3570 via tension ring. The hesalite is basically popped in and popped out. Can anyone confirm if it's possible to install a hesalite on a sapphire sandwich case? Thanks in advance!

No it's not possible, the cases are different, so a hesalite crystal won't fit.

Bugger... was just doing some research about this myself!

Any ideas about sourcing a replacement aftermarket sapphire crystal rather than the official Omega one?

I have ideas about it yes - mainly that you will be unlikely to find one...

Hi, I’m hoping to replace a 145.022 (mid 1980s) mid case with a 145.0811 (3573.50) Sapphire Sandwich mid case.

I gather from this thread that these aren’t compatible but perhaps this can be confirmed. Much appreciated, Paddy
